Let's Get Blogging // 2014 Goals

It is good to have goals. And honestly, I love making lists. Lists help me feel organized and like I can actually tackle everything that is on my plate. Plus, I love the satisfaction of crossing things off my lists. Whenever I don't know what to do with my day or where to start, I sit down with a fresh piece of paper and get started.

So, in the spirit of a new year, I feel that it is necessary to reflect on my goals for this blog and where I see Foreign Room going over the next 12 months. This way, I can keep myself focused on what I really want for this space and look back this time next year to see how things went.

Here they are:

+ Post more outfit photos & crafts/DIYs
I don't really consider myself a fashion blogger and am not a fashion expert in any way, but I do enjoy putting outfits together and sharing these bits of my personality here on the blog. I also love making crafts, but am not always motivated to do so. Even if they are simple, I want to start sharing more of them here. Let's live creatively, people.

+ Grow readership & create a community
This is what really matters most to me. In the time I have been blogging, I have loved creating friendships with others all across the country, like Katie of Chestnut Mocha and Abby of Little City Adventures. It has really enriched my life, I must say. I want to continue to meet others through the lovely comments you all leave. They really make my day!

+ Rock ad swaps
Sponsorship takes baby steps. This year I really want to focus on cultivating great sponsorship relationships with other bloggers in hopes of eventually being able to have a thriving sponsorship program and to support other bloggers.

+ Blog consistently, even when real life gets tough
This is something I have majorly struggled with since I have started blogging. It seems that during school breaks, I have a jolt of energy and spend much of my time thinking about, planning for, and working on this blog. And I love it. The trouble is, though, that I haven't been so great with keeping a consistent pace, especially when I am in school. Things get busy with school, and between that and work, I don't always have the time or energy to put into this space. I am feeling really happy with how 2014 has started here, though, and am hoping to carry that throughout the year.

Well, guys, here we go! If you are a blogger, what are your goals for this year? How do you stay motivated with blogging?

I have a goal to blog more consistently too & grow my audience (especially via social media). I've been thinking about doing sponsorship on my blog but in general i don't know where to start, i like your idea of starting with swapping (I may try that out in the coming months.).

Awesome goals! One of mine is definitely to post more outfit photos (re: also dress cuter in general.) Also, once I rebrand I"ll be sure to submit a swap for you :]

It is sometimes hard to stick with! Luckily, I have a (mostly) willing boyfriend to take my outfit photos, so that makes things much easier. Yes, that would be great :)

Swapping is definitely the way to go! It allows you to get experience with sponsorships, gives you traffic from other bloggers, and helps you to get to know other bloggers. A win-win for everyone really. Good luck!
