Outfit | Pretty in Pink

Happy Wednesday, friends! We've made it halfway through the week already (or, finally, some of you may also be thinking haha). For me, Wednesdays are one of my favorite days of the week, particularly because I usually work from home. I can typically work from home two days per week and have discovered that Wednesdays and Fridays work best for me. From the recharge I get from the weekend, I am able to power through Mondays and Tuesdays pretty well, especially knowing that I can take it slow on Wednesday (I can sleep in later, no commuting in traffic, I can wear comfy clothes all day, etc). Then, I head into Thursday feeling good from being at home the day before and knowing that the next day I will be at home too, and then *boom* it's the weekend again! It's honestly a pretty sweet schedule and I really enjoy the flexibility that it gives me. I know that I am lucky because not all jobs and companies allow this!

Outfit | Blue Dreams

edit-7876
It is no secret that here in California the summer weather drags on long after your heart is ready for the cooler fall weather... I think I mention it every year! Well, this year has been no different and was have had mannnny warm days that I wish were, well, not so warm. Sometimes it makes it difficult to know what to wear and even a little disappointing because the photos on Instagram have you thinking it is time for booties and sweaters, and it sadly isn't! This outfit is from one of those days! I have since cut my hair since these photos and that fun blue dye has faded, but I still wanted to share this outfit because it is perfect for that fall transition weather we have here.

My roommate Laura had gotten some temporary blue dye and asked me if I wanted to dye my hair too, so I figured why not?! It was a fun little pop of color to change things up a bit without too much commitment haha. It has since faded, but I enjoyed it while it lasted!edit-7890 blue-5
I got this floral print shirt on sale at Old Navy (pretty much where I buy alllllllllll my clothes!) and I love it! The fit is great and I really like how dainty the floral is. It is just a nice subtle print.edit-8036 edit-8005
I think that this shade of blue will forever be one the best colors on me! I think it goes well with my hair color and makes my blue eyes pop. I always seem to gravitate towards this blue when I am shopping! I guess if it works then just go with it?blue-8 edit-7918
We are still having sunny days here, but things are getting a bit chillier and you can bet that I am taking advantage of it by pulling out all my cute fall clothing! Hopefully I can convince Dai to take some outfit photos so I can share :)

I hope you all had a great week! I am enjoying my usual Friday off from school and am really happy it is the weekend! We don't have much going on, which is really nice! We are planning to go for a hike most likely, have dinner with family friends, and just chill :)

What are you up to this weekend?

xoxo

Outfit // Somewhere In Between

edit-7520
With Labor Day behind us, it seems that summer is now sadly over... Though we are quickly approaching fall, the weather here in California definitely isn't cooling down yet! So when it comes to wardrobe, I am somewhere in the middle of seasons. Most days I throw on a pair of shorts and a tank top and slide on sandals on my way out the door before I head to school, but I am kind of itching to break out those jeans and some new items I scored on sale for fall. For now, I will not complain about our warm temps here though since it means I will still be able to get in some more pool days :)

Over the weekend, we went to dinner at one of my very favorite restaurants, Picco Pizzeria, over the Golden Gate Bridge and into Marin County. It is always a beautiful drive through the city and over the bridge (well, except when there is tons of traffic...), and on this day we were blessed with sunshine and clear skies. I hadn't been in Marin in quite a while, so it was nice take a little drive and head into a different part of the Bay Area. While we waited for our table, we walked around downtown Larkspur and were able to snap some photos of my outfit.

The evening was cool enough to be able to pull out my current favorite pair of jeans and my go-to booties. I also wore a white flow tank top that I got earlier in the summer and didn't even need a sweater. I really love this tank top and how feminine it is, but I don't wear it too often since I am a bit afraid I might ruin it! These booties have been seen here on the blog countless times, but I just love them so much! I would really like to find a great pair of brown leather (real or faux) booties and have looked so many places with no luck. Let me know if you have seen a pair I might like!edit-7705
Earlier this summer I discovered an accessory store called Charming Charlie. As soon as I walked in, I was in love, purely by the fact that the store was organized by color! That definitely made my heart sing :) It was seriously great, especially because you could find each style in any color! I also found that all of the jewelry was really pretty reasonably priced, which is great because I am on a budget and simply don't believe in spending much on that kind of stuff, at this point in my life anyway. On my first visit, I picked up a few pieces, including this orange flower necklace that came in a set with matching earrings. I have been wearing this necklace often this summer since I just love the pop of color it gives my looks!edit-7640 edit-7652

I must say, it was kind of nice to get a taste of fall wardrobe on this evening! It had been nearly a month since I had worn jeans and I hadn't pulled out my Madewell tote in quite a while! I think it will forever be my favorite and it instantly reminds me of fall fashion with its warm brown tones.edit-7665 edit-7791 edit-7584
This outfit is pretty simple, just the way I like it, and is a great for me in this transitional weather. Although, I don't think the heat is going anywhere anytime soon, since it was 90 degrees yesterday!

These photos were pretty fun to shoot and I really enjoyed doing outfit photos for the first time in so long. My friend and roommate, Laura, was standing off to the side while Dai was behind the camera and she made me laugh a bunch, so I think these photos turned out with more silly faces from me than usual, but I love it :)

At a weekend sale, I scored a few new items for fall and I can't wait to get back into the groove of sharing outfit posts! It has been too long, friends!

Are you ready for fall and fall fashion? Or are you holding on to summer for as long as possible? What are your go-to transitional pieces?

A Coffee Date + JORD

JORD-5
It is no secret that I love coffee dates. I love them so much it has become my mission to make Dai love them too. Whenever I can, I get him to come along with me to a coffee shop where we can find a cozy spot to sip our yummy drinks and talk or work on blog things. When I got back from my two-week-long trip, I made a date for us to do just that. We had a lot to catch up on since we hadn't seen each other in so long (the longest time apart in 3 years!), so we headed to the city to visit a new-to-us coffee shop called Pinhole Coffee. We loved the vibe and camera themed decor, but that's another story that deserves a post of its own!

While I was away, Dai and I each received beautiful new wood watches from JORD! I have been eyeing JORD's watches for quite sometime, so I was definitely thrilled to finally have one of my own. I had also shown Dai this company a while back and ever since then he has been telling me that he wanted one, so as you can imagine, he was pretty happy too!
copy-6658
When we opened our watch boxes, we were both so impressed with how nicely our watches were packaged. I almost didn't want to take mine out! I love that I now have a nice wooden box to use for something else, or better yet, a safe place to store my watch when I am not wearing it.
Jord-2
On our coffee date, we both excitedly decided to wear our watches for the first time and I must say, we are in love! With our watches and each other ;) After going back and forth between our options for watches, Dai finally settled on the Delmar series in Red Sandalwood & White Carbon and I settled on the Frankie series in Purpleheart & Plum. It was a tough decision because we liked so many of them, but we are very happy with our choices!copy-6602copy-6831
So far I have gotten a lot of compliments on my pretty purple watch! It is very unlike anything I have seen before and the color makes it so unique. It feels really nice on my wrist, especially since JORD sent it to me already sized with my wrist measurements, which is such a great service that they offer with your order! I always hate when I get a watch and have to wait to wear it until I get it sized, so it made me very happy to be able to wear my watch immediately after opening it.JORD-8
One great thing that we have discovered is that these wood watches fit in so well with our casual style (but can also be easily dressed up when need be!). Whether we are wearing them to work at the office, run around with kiddos as a nanny, out on the town on a Friday night, or on a coffee date, they just look so good! We are quite pleased with how these unique watches fit right in to our busy and casual lifestyle.copy-6706
Dai was really drawn to the eye-catching design of his watch, as the big face of it compliments his style and the redwood and white carbon contrast each other so nicely. So far he has loved wearing it to work and showing it off to his coworkers haha.copy-6879
All in all, our coffee date was a success and we enjoyed our latte & iced coffee! I think I just may have even convinced Dai that we should schedule some more of these in the future :) There is something so nice about relaxing and catching up over a cup of goodness!

Big thanks to JORD for sending us these lovely watches to enjoy and wear on coffee dates for many years to come!

xoxo

The Perfect Spring Time Yoga Pants

yoga pants, yogaoutlet.com, outlet, discount, spring, active wear, style, sponsored
I think we can all agree that spring is a pretty lovely time of year. We can begin to pack away our sweaters and heavy jackets, and pull out the sandals and sun dresses. With that, we also start spending more time outside, enjoying the sunshine and increasingly warmer weather. I will admit, as much as I enjoy cute summer clothes, I also love having comfy, pretty clothes I can quickly throw on to casually grab some coffee or take a walk on the beach with my dog. Most of the time, this ends up being active wear because, lets face it: its the most comfortable! And by active wear, you know I really mean yoga pants because why put on actual pants when you can wear the closest socially acceptable thing to pajamas?yoga pants, yogaoutlet.com, outlet, discount, spring, active wear, style, sponsored
I recently had the opportunity to pick out a pair of new yoga pants from YogaOutlet.com to welcome spring and as you can imagine, I was very excited! I had actually never heard of YogaOutlet before, but after browsing their site for just a few minutes, I immediately became a fan. They had every kind of print and color you could imagine, and I definitely had a difficult time choosing which pair to get!yoga pants, yogaoutlet.com, outlet, discount, spring, active wear, style, sponsored
The great thing about YogaOutlet is that they offer a wide variety of active wear brands, all at much lower prices than they would originally retail for. I really enjoyed being able to discover new-to-me brands that I likely would have never come across otherwise. It is awesome to be able to get a really high quality pair of yoga pants with an even better price tag!yoga pants, yogaoutlet.com, outlet, discount, spring, active wear, style, sponsoredyoga pants, yogaoutlet.com, outlet, discount, spring, active wear, style, sponsored
I eventually settled on this plum colored pair of capri yoga pants from Beyond Yoga and since I had a bit of money left in my budget, decided to get this Free People tank top to go with it. Plum is one of my most favorite colors, so once I saw this pair while browsing through their collection of yoga pants, I knew these had to be mine. Being a rather short gal, I usually prefer capri yoga pants since most long pairs tend to be too long and too baggy at the bottom. These Beyond Yoga capris ended up being the perfect fit! I thought that it would be nice to have a complete, new outfit and am pretty happy with how nicely this soft pink tank paired with these pants.yoga pants, yogaoutlet.com, outlet, discount, spring, active wear, style, sponsored
One small detail that I wasn't sure if I would like about these pants was a gathered seam in the back of the legs. I decided to give them a shot anyways, and luckily the seams don't bother me and even add a bit of interest :)yoga pants, yogaoutlet.com, outlet, discount, spring, active wear, style, sponsored
Now, I'm not going to pretend that I am a yoga guru or even practice yoga on a regular basis (although I may try show off for a few photos ;)), but a girl can't go wrong with a good pair of yoga pants. They are awesome for those times we do actually do active things, or those times when we really just can't deal with wearing jeans all day :) On this particular day, I wore this comfy outfit out for a short hike, a lunch date with friends, some time at the beach, and grabbing my afternoon coffee fix. It was the perfect thing to wear for such a lovely, casual day!

I am happy to have discovered a great new place to shop for my future pairs of yoga pants and look forward to wearing this lovely plum pair and tank top all throughout the warm weather heading our way! Big thanks to YogaOutlet.com!

Outfit // A Voodoo Vixen Valentine

VV-dress1
As you all know, I am a big fan of Voodoo Vixen and their beautiful dresses, so when they contacted me about selecting something from their new collection to try out, you bet I was more than excited. Each vintage inspired piece I have gotten from Voodoo Vixen has impressed me more and more, and I always love pouring over their site when they get new things in. I just wish they had a store I could go to see all the pretty dresses in person!vv-dress2
After browsing through all of my options, I finally settled on the Blair dress, this red beauty! I loved the unique cut and how it was different than anything I already had in my closet. The neckline was interesting and I thought that the velvet peacock feathers were such a cool detail. Plus, a woman can never go wrong with a beautiful red dress, right?!
VV-dress3VV-dress4vv-dress5
I'll be honest, I got this dress before Thanksgiving and it wasn't quite fitting me right. I think it may have been a bit too tight and I got discouraged that this lovely dress wasn't fitting me, especially since I really wanted to wear it for the holidays. I decided to give it another try though and now it somehow fits me really well! I don't really know what happened, but I was not about to question it and decided to instead finally photograph it :)vvdress6
One thing that is nice about this dress is that it really seems to look nice from all angles, which is definitely helps a girl feel confident! Also, it passes my twirl test, so I am a fan :)vv-dress7
Though red is a beautiful color, it can be tough to know when to wear it. For me, it is definitely more of a fall and winter color and we all know that it screams "holiday season!" Now that it is January, however, that does not mean that the red has to stop! There is still plenty of winter left (although California may disagree!) and Valentine's Day--the second most red holiday of them all, which is exactly the occasion that I plan to wear this dress for again :)vv-dress8vv-dress9
When it comes to shoes, I am more of a classic girl and can't help but love a good pair of Mary Jane heels or flats with just about any outfit. When choosing what to pair this dress with, my instincts were no different! I think that these surprisingly comfy wedges of mine added just the right amount of fanciness to this look and that the silver bracelets were a nice touch too.vv-dress10
Though I did not get to wear this dress for Christmas like I had planned, I think it will make the perfect outfit to wear for Valentine's Day with Dai :) I have absolutely no idea what we are going to do yet, but either way, you can bet that I'll be dressed up in this beauty!

This is the fourth Voodoo Vixen addition to my closet and my love for their designs definitely won't be fading any time soon :)
