Hello, hello! I'm here now as a fully fledged 21-year-old! I celebrated my birthday this past Sunday while we were in Seattle and it was quite the lovely day. It feels a little crazy to actually be 21! Like, I can now legally order a drink when we go out or buy a bottle of wine at the grocery store if I feel like it. One day I can't do these things and then the next I can haha it is weird! Also, I think it is completely appropriate to wear a princess crown when you are the Birthday Girl :)
On the morning of my birthday, we took a ferry across Puget Sound to Bainbridge Island. Even though it was rainy and cold, it was nice to see Seattle from a different point of view.
We walked around downtown Bainbridge and stopped into a little coffee shop for some breakfast snacks. While downtown, we visited some shops and even did a little wine tasting at a tasting room. Downtown Bainbridge is pretty small, but it is also very cute! I can imagine it being a bustling place during the summer months.
After talking to some locals, we decided to check out the Bloedel Reserve for a scenic walk. It was a rainy walk, but there was something very peaceful about it and we had fun wandering down the path.
It was about a two mile trail that had twelve different points of interest, like a Japanese tea garden, a few bridges, a barn, a house, and a pond. Even though it was cold, wet, and not something we would normally probably do, it was nice and certainly beautiful.
After the reserve, we stopped at a tiny winery for more wine tasting and treated ourselves to ice cream downtown before heading back to the ferry.
For my birthday dinner, we went to Serious Pie inside the new Starbucks Reserve Roastery. The pizza was pretty good, but it was really fun to be able to order a drink! I had no idea what to get, but the waitress told me that if it were her 21st birthday, she would get Proseco since it is bubbly and fun for special occasions. So that's exactly what I did! It was a good choice and I definitely felt special, especially in my crown :)
We ended the day with a little brownie cake at our Airbnb. Even though the cake was pretty small, we made sure to fit exactly 21 candles on it!
It was a great birthday and I felt so loved with all of the calls, texts, and messages that I received. It was nice to celebrate while on a trip, but I am also looking forward to hopefully getting together with some friends now that we are home!
I hope that everyone has been having a great New Year so far! I haven't really blogged much since we were out of town for the first week, but I am excited for a new year and what that will bring for this blog :)
Oh! And also, it has been pretty awesome to see how many people have already joined Blog Buddies Network! If you haven't joined yet, we would definitely love to have you! :)
Ice Cream before dinner?! Yup that's what being 21 is all about! ;)
It wouldn't have been a proper birthday without a tiara. Love your pink one :)
Happy birthday girl!
Happy 21st birthday!
Hurray for being legal everywhere!
Happy birthday lovely! It looked like such a wonderful (if rainy) trip. And being able to buy wine is always a good day ;)
