Review // My First Rocksbox

rocksbox-1
Last week, I received my very first Rocksbox in the mail! I am sure many of you have seen things about this company on Instagram or other blogs, but it is a fairly new jewelry monthly subscription box. When you sign up for the service, you take a little survey that gives the folks at Rocksbox an idea of your style. Then, you receive a box with three different jewelry pieces that the stylist thinks you would like based on your survey. What is pretty cool and unique about Rocksbox is that you can keep the jewelry for as long as you'd like and then send it back when you are ready for three more pieces. It is like you are renting jewelry and get to change your collection up as often as you'd like! If you happen to fall in love with a particular piece, you also have the option to buy it.rocksbox-2
I found a coupon code through a fellow blogger's Instagram account, so I got my first month for free! This was a great way to try this service out to see if I would like to keep going with it. Plus, it is always great to get fun mail!rocksbox-4
With my Rocksbox, I received a little note from the stylist that put my box together. In it, she gave a little explanation of her choices and it also listed the pieces included, as well as the prices if I like them enough to buy them. I really liked this personal touch to my curated collection!rocksbox-5
In my box, I received a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet. The stylist said that she chose these items because I had put the earrings on my "wish list" on the Rocksbox site, so she decided to build a little collection around them and include pieces that would all go well together.rocksbox-6
Melinda Maria "Mini Nicole Necklace" - $78
This necklace is fairly lovely and seems to be great quality. However, it is my least favorite piece that I received. I don't know what it is. Perhaps it is just a little too simple for my taste, as lately I have been more into statement necklaces. Also, for it being the most expensive item in my box, it is the least impressive. It is cute though and pairs nicely with the earrings that I also got.rocksbox-7
Gorjana "Pristine Circle Stud Earrings" - $36
I really like these earrings! They seem to be fairly neutral, so they could go with just about any outfit. I feel like these would make a nice "every day" type of earrings. I like the little specks of faux diamond mixed in with the gold and to me their simplicity is part of their charm. They aren't too big, which is also nice, and were pretty comfortable to wear. Though they are probably a bit more than I would spend on a pair of studs, because I could get so much use out of them, I am considering keeping them.rocksbox-8
Margaret Elizabeth "Teardrop Bangle in Aqua Chalcedony" - $70
This is definitely my favorite piece that I received in my box. I love how delicate and feminine it is, but that it is also unique and has the potential to be very versatile. The color of the stones is very beautiful and the style is unlike anything I own. It is also very light weight and comfortable to wear. If I were to purchase anything from my box, it would be this piece, although I am not sure I could justify its price tag.rocksbox-9rocksbox-10
Overall, I really enjoyed my Rocksbox experience and would like to see what kind of other pieces I could receive in future boxes! Because I got my first month free, I may give it a try for another month and tweak my style profile a bit. Generally though, these pieces do fit my personality and are things that would function well in my wardrobe. I am undecided about whether or not to keep any of the items yet, but they sure are pretty!

The one thing I am hesitant about, though, is the pricing. All of these pieces are generally more than I would like spend on one jewelry item, so I am not sure if I will really be inclined to keep any of them. BUT, I guess that is part of the beauty of Rocksbox because you can just "rent" them and return them when you're done! That way, you are only spending $19/month for totally new pieces to spice up your styling! Well played, Rocksbox, well played.

If you decide to give Rocksbox a shot, I would love it if you entered my referral code jessicabff933 when signing up :)

What do you think about Rocksbox? Do you subscribe to any monthly boxes?

Influenster #DLVoxBox

voxbox, influenster, ludens, blue raspberry, kiss eyelashes, tampons, softlips cube, sinful colors, no text red, free stuff
Happy Monday! Do you like free stuff? I definitely love free stuff. It almost doesn't matter what it is; if it is free I will most likely take it. That being said, I love Influenster. Most people that are bloggers or read blogs know what Influenster is, but for those of you who are new to it, Influenster is basically a website that gives free products to those who are present in social media so that they will share about their experiences with the products. I'm fairly new to it (I've had an account for quite a while but never did anything with it!) and this is the first VoxBox I have been sent. Yay for fun mail! I've been meaning to write about it for a looooong time (like two months, whoops!), but better late than never, right? Also, there was some Airheads Bites candies in here, but I ate those before I could snap a photo. Duh.

I've been saving these for a special occasion, so I haven't tried these out yet. I have heard good things about Kiss brand though, so I am looking forward to wearing them! I just may pull them out for my next outfit shoot or for the holidays :)voxbox, influenster, ludens, blue raspberry, kiss eyelashes, tampons, softlips cube, sinful colors, no text red, free stuff
I really like this little Softlips Cube! I don't think I have ever tried any Softlips products, but there's a first time for everything! It feels pretty nice on my lips and has a yummy scent. The shape is also interesting, which I like. This Sinful Colors nail polish is a really lovely shade called "No Text Red" since they have a campaign to paint your thumb nail red to remind ourselves not to text and drive. It is a great idea and an important reminder.voxbox, influenster, ludens, blue raspberry, kiss eyelashes, tampons, softlips cube, sinful colors, no text red, free stuff
Love these Pilot Frixon pens! I do wish that the pigment were darker and not so transparent, but THEY ARE ERASABLE, which makes them awesome. They also erase without leaving eraser shavings and that is definitely nice for people like me who like to keep things neat. I have several more of these and some marker ones that I got in Japan, so I was already a fan before receiving these in my VoxBox!voxbox, influenster, ludens, blue raspberry, kiss eyelashes, tampons, softlips cube, sinful colors, no text red, free stuff
I'm going to be really honest, I have not used these yet and don't really want to because I don't like tampons all that much. Although, I just might actually try these because they seem to be pretty good. Also, is it weird to post a photo of a box of tampons on my blog? Probably, but I do what I want.voxbox, influenster, ludens, blue raspberry, kiss eyelashes, tampons, softlips cube, sinful colors, no text red, free stuff
These taste like candy and I love them. I haven't needed any cough drops since I received these Luden's Blue Raspberry ones, so I'm not sure how well they work to suppress a cough, but as candy they're pretty good ;)

That's it! I hope to have the opportunity for another VoxBox sometime soon since it is always fun trying out new products!

Have you ever tried Influenster? If not, you definitely should! Like I said, who doesn't love free stuff?!

Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!

Review // Sunday Morning Cards

sunday-morning-cards
Today I have something pretty special to share with you all! I was recently contacted by Sunday Morning Cards to pick out a few cards to keep and I definitely jumped on the opportunity. I have always liked crating personal cards for others, but let's face it, sometimes I just don't have the time to do things like that. When that is the case, it is nice to know of a shop that will have a unique card for every occasion happening in my life. Sometimes Hallmark just isn't original enough, you know?sm-cards-2
Sunday Morning Cards is an Etsy shop based in Seattle and ran by a sweet gal named Briar. When I received my package of cards in the mail, my first impression of Briar was her lovely attention to detail. Between the Harry Potter postage stamps and washi tape seal, I was pretty happy. I just love little added touches of personalty like that!sm-cards-3
I chose three different cards for occasions happening in my life right now. First, I needed a card to send with a gift for my cousin's recent wedding. Second, I loved this hilarious Christmas Vacation themed card that I know will put a smile on my dad's face. And third, I thought a little "just because" card for Dai would be nice :)sm-cards-4
All three of the cards I received are such great quality and arrived so neatly packaged. Each card came with a plastic protective cover, which I really appreciated since bent corners are one of my pet peeves! This also makes it easy to safely store them for use later down the road.

These are obviously just three of the unique and high quality cards that Sunday Morning Cards has to offer, but I was happily surprised at the wit and thought behind the design of each of the many cards in this shop. You can really find a card for any occasion and one that is sure to make you laugh! Here are a few more of my favorites: this Christmas card, this funny card for your sweetie, and this painfully accurate and hilarious graduation card.SM-Cards-6
I know that the people I will be giving these cards to will love the fun, non-traditional designs and that they will enjoy receiving something handmade from a small business. With a great selection, reasonable prices, and speedy delivery, I will definitely be purchasing cards for my loved ones from this shop in the future :)

As an added bonus for all my readers, Sunday Morning Cards is offering a special code to give you free shipping on your next purchase! Just enter the code 'FREESHIPPING' at checkout! (This code expires on January 31st, 2015 and is valid only on domestic orders)

Big thanks to Briar at Sunday Morning Cards for gifting me these lovely cards to review!

Happy shopping!
