Weekly Wishes #7

For those of you just jumping on the Weekly Wishes train, welcome aboard! Also, just a reminder that Weekly Wishes is a motivating link-up meant to encourage and support others through their weekly goals (and beyond!).

Go to bed before 11pm. Yeah... This was pretty unsuccessful. I have been finding it really difficult to do this, especially because I have had so much homework to do lately. Hopefully things will calm down soon and I can do better at this!

Unplug from a different form of social media each day. I really wish I could say that I did better at this! But I didn't... Guys, this is actually really hard! I thought it would be easy, and sometimes it was, but I didn't meet my goal. I got some great encouragement and tips from all of you though! So, next time...

Finish some business cards I was working on. Done! Felt good to get this over with. Now I am even considering making some for myself :) I don't know, for this blog? For my nonexistent photography business? I don't know!

Work on having more patience. You know, I actually think I did a pretty good job at this. I was even in a store with my dad while he was trying to return some things, but there was a huge, slow line. And if you know my dad, he is even way less patient than I am! So I told him to just go walk around while I waited in line for him. Claps for me.

- Unplug from social media. After pretty much failing at this last week, I am going to try it again! But this time, I think that I will just go at least three days unplugging from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram all at the same time. Last week I said I would unplug from one each day, but I think it is kind of cheating since I still have the other two to distract me, right?! So cold turkey we go...

- Use my time wisely. At this point I don't really have any time to waste! Practically all of my time is accounted for right now, which is tiring and difficult. But in the time I do have, I want to try to get my homework done efficiently and on-time, and even have time left over to invest on things that actually make me happy, like this blog!

- Make some decisions about a trip. Dai and I are talking about going to New York City! Can you believe it? I sure can't. He is able to get some time off of work over Thanksgiving week, and it would be a good time for me to get away too. Also, his friend lives only a 20 minute subway ride away from the city, and she invited us to stay with her. So, I think we might do it! New York City in the fall.... Does anything sound better? No, nothing at all...

- Drink at least 1.5 liters of water per day. I joined Mal over at Lazy Boleyn in Weekly Wishes from last week in this to support her, but I want to officially take it on for myself this week!

That's all for this week! It will be a busy one, and Dai and I are taking off to LA right after work on Friday night to visit with my family. I am definitely looking forward to getting away, even if it is for such a short time!

Hope everyone has a great week! What are your wishes for this week?

I love your photo! And I have the same wish pretty much about time management. My biggest challenge is definitely trying to get schoolwork done and still have time for myself. Good luck this week! xo.

I love love love NYC!!! Have you ever been there?? I have only been there once but my mom was worried I may never come home because I liked it so much! I also went in the Fall (October) and it was so gorgeous! Also using my time wisely is a constant cat and mouse game in my life. Always trying to get ahead with the time I do have and never quite getting there.... One day maybe! I am just thankful to have so much going on to juggle right? Hope you have a fabulous week!!!

WOW good luck with the social media unplug! I honestly don't know if I could ever ever do that!

I was just in NYC 8/22-8/27 and it was so amazing. I've been there in every season but winter, and fall was my favorite by far (I went in October last time)!! That's so awesome you're planning a trip there!

Good luck with everything this week!

You know, I will join you for the 1.5 litre water challenge! It's hot and humid where I live, and sometimes I take that for granted. Then when I travel to a drier country, I'll suffer.

Good luck for your goals this week!

Thank you! I hope our NY plans work out :) I'm super excited!!!

I know, right?! Don't think we would be able to do it if we had to pay for our flight and hotel, so this is so great!

That is really great advice! I never really thought about it that way, but it is so true! Nice way to look at things. Thank you for that :)

That makes complete sense! It is so true. I don't even have to think about checking different things haha I just do it.

Jess // Foreign Room said...

Oh yay! Good to know that it is actually nice at that time. I am super pumped! Any suggestions for what we should do?!

Thanks for stopping by :)

No I have never been to NYC!! Sounds like fall is the time to go :)

Ugh, using time wisely is TOTALLY a cat and mouse game. It just never ends!!

Thanks, and I hope you have a wonderful week too!

Thanks so much, Taylor! I struggle in the exact same way. Or sometimes I just do what I want and put schoolwork last... haha. I'm bound to get it right one of these days, right?!
