Outfit // Twirl-Worthy Woman

h&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red lip
Hello, hello! Wednesday is nearly over already here in California, but here I am! While I did not get around to actually writing a post until right now, I did spend a lot of time today thinking, dreaming, and planning for the future of this space. There is just always so much more to learn! I don't necessarily consider myself a "beginning" blogger anymore, but I am ready to take things to the next level and there is so much involved that it can be a little daunting. I've also recently gotten the itch to redesign things around here, and since I currently have the time to do so, who knows what I'll come up with! I tend to always feel this way when I have breaks from school and usually end up changing the whole design.h&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red lip
On an unrelated note, everywhere I have turned this week I've seen red, white, and blue all over. I love the 4th of July and this time of year as much as the next (American) girl, but holy moly. I'll go ahead and spoil it for y'all right now: as of yet, I do not have any Independence Day themed posts planned; no  festive recipe roundups, style guides, or nail tutorials. Sorry to break it to you. But, I do have this lovely outfit, one I am currently completely in love with! A little red, white, and teal/mint. Does that count?h&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red lip
Besides my new favorite shoes, what is really making me swoon over this outfit is that skirt. I don't usually gravitate towards skirts because I feel that they are more difficult to style with my body type. This year, though, I was determined to find an easy, breezy skirt. After looking for quite some time, I finally found this beauty at H&M, a place I never seriously shop at, just browse in from time to time. I had actually happily settled on a longer maxi version of this skirt, but at the last moment its shorter, sexier sister caught my eye and I switched gears. I am really happy I changed my mind! This one has the right flowy retro vibe to it, and for the first time I really feel like I can style a skirt in a way that makes me completely happy and confident.h&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red liph&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red liph&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red lip
I can't help but want to just twirl around in it all day long! You know how some outfits just make you feel more sophisticated and like you can take on the world? This is one of those outfits for me. With a twirly skirt, fun little heels, and a red lip, I really feel like a woman. You know what I mean? It is a great and somewhat strange feeling, mostly because I usually still feel too young to consider myself a woman!h&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red liph&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red liph&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red liph&m, outfit, heels, dsw, teal, mint, red lip

Well, I'm off to dream up all the other twirl-worthy outfits that I can put together with this game-changer of a skirt. And hunt for all the ones I can find in the same shape! I think I have a new obsession.

What makes you feel like a woman?

That skirt is so pretty on you! I used to shy away from skirts, too, because I'm short-waisted, but after finding a similar one to yours last year, I wear skirts just as often as I wear dresses.

By the way, I'm really impressed with your blogging skills, and to learn from your Q&A video that you're self-taught! You've inspired me to start improving my own.

Thank you Isabella! I think you may find me in skirts a lot more often if I can snag more of this shape!

Aww thanks... I'm so happy to hear that you watched the Q&A video! And that you are impressed with my blogging skills! I have definitely come a loooong way and I'm excited to see what is to come. I am flattered that I've inspired you to improve your own! If you ever have any questions or need any advice, don't hesitate to ask :)

That is a fabulous outfit! I totally get you how just a few items in your wardrobe can make you go from I still feel like Im in middle school to holy shit Im like in my 20s and like a real grown adult woman now. Red lipstick always helps with that by the way. blogging can be daunting sometimes anyways, I love your blog but can't wait to see where you take it in the future. Do you do your own blog designs since you change it somewhat often?

Thank you! You are definitely right about red lipstick; I feel most grown up when I wear it! Yes, I do create my own blog designs and have always done so. I am majoring in graphic design (even though I haven't actually taken any classes in it at community college so far!), so I do my best to teach myself everything that I can. It has been frustrating, but I always enjoy pushing myself to learn more and create a better design for this space! It is actually fun for me :)
