Somehow, it is Friday once again! I swear, it takes me until like Thursday to get a handle on my week and I think "Ok, now I'm ready to blog!" and then its basically over and I get one or two posts in before the weekend. Then the cycle starts again. Sigh. Perhaps one of these days I will actually figure out how to work, go to school, do life, and run a consistent, thriving blog. But probably not. Haha. For now though, I hope that those of you who actually do read this blog understand and love me despite my sporadic posting schedule. I love you, too.
Anyway, while I (clearly) haven't been diligently working to stick to my editorial calendar, I have been refining (and adding to) my wardrobe! Lucky for you, this means that I am all revved up for a whole new series of outfit posts (unlucky for Dai ;) ). The other day when we went out to shoot these photos, I found this lovely yellow wall on accident in an alley way. I wasn't sure how well it would photograph with my orange skirt, but I was pleasantly surprised and must say that it is my new favorite shooting location! It is simply perfection. So, definitely get used to seeing more of it :)
I got this skirt from ModCloth back in the fall and can't believe that it has taken me this long to feature it here on the blog! As you may recall, last summer was the summer that I became obsessed with skirts. Ever since then, skirts have been high on my radar and I haven't been afraid to snatch them up. At the time of my recent found love, I came across the Breathtaking Tiger Lilies skirt on ModCloth's site and instantly knew I had to have one. It took me a few months to actually order one, though, because I simply couldn't decide what color to get! I obviously eventually settled on orange and am really happy with that choice! That isn't to say, however, that I don't plan on adding
I think that it has taken me so long to style this skirt in an outfit post because I had been waiting on the perfect top to pair it with! While I have paired it nicely with a solid black or white shirt in the past, I think that this collared polka dot top is a much better match. As soon as I saw this top in the store, I knew exactly what I wanted to wear it with! I enjoy this top on it's own too, though, since it is soft, lightweight, and can be dressed up or down nicely. I can't wait to wear it with jeans or a pair of colored pants!
For a year or so now, I have been on the hunt for the perfect black, wide-rimmed fedora style hat. I have found a few that have come close to being winners, but usually there was something a bit off about them--too floppy or too wide (or too expensive). While I was shopping with my mom this past weekend, though, I found this beauty at Forever 21! It was really nice that they had several styles of simple black hats, but this one seemed to be the most "classic" and suited me well. I wore it all around the store before deciding I just couldn't leave without it!
I'm not gonna lie, this is one of my most favorite outfit posts to date! I love how I feel and look in this outfit, and the photos turned out pretty wonderfully. My lucky yellow wall! I shall be back here soon :)
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I will be spending mine working (overnight stay with my nanny kiddos!), hanging out with friends, and (hopefully) relaxing! Hopefully I will also be able to spend a nice chunk of time prepping for next week's posts and will actually be able to publish one before next Friday ;)
Cheers to the weekend, friends!
P.S. Check out all the fun stuff happening with the #trueyouproject! It isn't too late to join in & we will be releasing a brand new prompt on Monday! Woohoo!
