My Favorite Skincare Products

As I've been getting a little older and am no longer in school (AKA survival mode), I've been trying to overall take better care of myself. It is no secret that the key to looking youthful is taking care of your skin, so I've been upping my skincare game little by little.

Here are some of my favorite products that I've added to my routine over the last several months or so.

I don't know much about toners, but I will say that I enjoy this one because of how refreshing it feels when I spray it on my face after washing it or getting out of the shower.

I've been using this moisturizer for years now and is the most tried and true product of mine on this list. It is affordable (I usually get it in a pack at Costco), light, and great for my skin that tends to be on the oily side.

This is the most expensive item in my skincare collection at $75 a jar. I only have it because it came in my LadyGang box, but it is a real gem! It is very thorough and makes my skin feel so nice. I don't think I could ever justify buying it after this precious supply runs out, so I will enjoy it while I can!

This is an item that I added to my skincare arsenal a couple months ago, but in the short time I've been using it, it has already been a game changer! I use to about 4-5 times per week and I have noticed that my skin has been so much clearer and overall more vibrant since I added it to my routine. I enjoy the Goldfaden MD scrub I mentioned above, but this apricot scrub is better for more frequent use. At around $5 a jar (big jar too!), this product is a must.

Confession: I don't know too much about serums. All I know is that retinoids and retinal are great for anti aging and that they are fabulous additions to your nighttime skincare routine. I'v heard a lot of things about The Ordinary and after doing some research, I decided to try this (and a few other products) out for myself. Over time, I think that this will make a big difference in preventing fine lines and wrinkles.

Going back to my point about being a noob with serums, I decided to try this one out from The Ordinary too. This one, from my understanding, is a blend of different things that are great for your skin. I like to think of this one as a multipurpose serum and enjoy applying it during the day and sometimes at night too. With the wallet friendly prices of The Ordinary products, it doesn't hurt to give them a shot.

I will admit, up until recently, I was not very good about putting on creams or moisturizers at night. This Olay night cream has been such a great addition to my routine. I can't say if I notice any major difference in my skin yet, but I just really enjoy how hydrated it makes my skin feel at night and there's something comforting about the scent of it to me for some reason. I've noticed this product and its "whipped" version all over the internet lately.

I was a little skeptical about this product because I wasn't really sure how it could be any better than coconut oil or my usual makeup removing face wash, but I have been pleasantly surprised. It has the consistency and makeup removing powers of coconut oil, but it leaves my skin feeling fresh rather than oily and really does remove ALL of my makeup. After using this balm, I follow with a cleanser and skin is squeaky clean and ready for the rest of my routine. I am a believer!

I will admit that I am not that great at using masks on a regular basis, however, I do really like this one. As I have read online, it is best to mix this powdered clay with apple cider vinegar until it turns into a paste and then apply it to your face. I love how it feels when it dries and cracks, and how soft my skin feels afterwards. This mask has been praised by many and comes in a big jar that should last quite a long time. A little goes a long way with this one!

I am not a skincare expert by any means. I like to keep my routine simple and affordable, and get tips from people like Kelsey of Blondes & Bagels. These are simply products that I have enjoyed and have worked well for me, so I thought I would share them in case you are looking to change up your routine and appreciate items in a similar price range.

What are your favorite skincare items? I want to check them out! Have you used any of these yourself?
