New Room Before & After!

It has been a month since I started fixing up my new room and moving my stuff in! I'm feeling pretty settled in now and have been so excited to share more about it here on the blog, including some before and after photos! I must say, this room has made quite the transformation and I am very proud of the work I put into it! I originally had wanted to wait to reveal the before & after until I had everything decorated just the way I wanted and had things hanging on the wall, but I just couldn't wait :)

So, here is my bedroom before the transformation started! It was just an empty red room, with red walls and hardwood floors! I knew that the red walls had to go and that simply painting would make a huge difference.
Now that you have an idea of what it looked like before, are you ready to see the after photos?! Here we go...


Ta-da! I really can't believe how different it looks! I love how it is bright, fresh, and cozy, which is exactly what I was going for. As you can see, it is a fairly small room, so it was sometimes challenging to keep things simple and uncluttered. I was originally planning to have my desk in my room as well, but clearly there is no room for it! Thankfully, my roommates were kind enough to let me have a little spot for my desk in an open extra area we have in the house, so that worked out even better.

So far, it has been a great little room to come home to and is just enough space for me. It is much smaller than my old room in our house we sold last year, but maybe that it is a good thing since it is forcing me to be a bit more minimal and is helping my room stay clean!

Now that the room is painted a light grey and I have white furniture and bedding, I am ready to add some color with decor! I definitely want to create a gallery wall and hang other things up. It would also be nice to get some colorful throw pillows, but I haven't quite found the right ones yet. For now, though, I am happy with it and am enjoying my new little space!

VIDEO // Christmas Tree Decorating

Hello, hello! I've been inside all day long, cuddling with Marly, watching Gilmore Girls, drinking tea (have you heard of Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea? Interesting.), and trying to be productive. It has really been a great rainy day! School AND work were cancelled for me, so it's the ultimate day off :)

As I've mentioned before, my new camera takes video! SO, when Dai and I decorated our tree this past weekend, we filmed it. Since I had some time to play around today, I put this little video together! I really don't know anything about making videos and this is the first one I have ever done, so don't judge me too harshly haha BUT, ENJOY!!

Inspiration // Birthday Party

As you may remember, it was my birthday just a few days ago! I decided to have a little get together this coming weekend to celebrate with some family and a couple friends. Naturally, I will take advantage of any opportunity to break out my Pinterest boards and get to work. Above is what has caught my eye for my party.

I am not much of a pink girl, but for some reason it is a color I am inspired by for this party! That as well as a nice orange and gold glitter, of course. I am happy to have people I love all in one place in my honor, but though it is going to be a small gathering, I want it to be festive and fun!

Any excuse for paper straws and a fabric strip backdrop (which I already made!), right?

Hope this week is going well so far. I'm back to work, but will be enjoying my last week off from school before chaos ensues!
