Japan Adventures // Instant Ramen Museum

I've been really excited to share this post! During the second week of our trip, we stayed in Tokyo and wandered around the city. One place that was at the top of our list was the Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum. We finally made our way there one day and it was a great time!
Our first stop in the museum was an area where you could make your own customizable cup noodle to take home! We bought the cup out of a vending machine and got to decorate it with markers.
We then got to pick the toppings that we wanted to go into our ramen and the flavoring. It was kind of cool to see what they all looked like before going into the cup!
Ta-da! My personalized cup noodle! All sealed up and everything. Pretty cool! Not so sure I'm ever actually going to eat it, but we'll see. It's just too cute to open!
After our cups were all sealed, there was a station to put them in an inflatable bag so that they could be carried home. Only the Japanese think of things like this. But they were really cool and fun to carry around!Or wear as a necklace.
Aside from the floor where you can create your own cup noodle, there are a few other floors that contain a museum, a playground, a gift shop, and a cafeteria area where you can buy all different types of ramen from around the world.
The museum exhibit area was quite interesting! I didn't know that there was so much history behind something that is so seemingly simple when you don't really think about about it. I guess someone had to come up with how to package it all and make it work!

Before going to the museum, I hadn't eaten any instant ramen in years, but it was fun to get a behind-the-scenes peek at how it all comes together! I also really liked seeing all the different types of ramen and packaging they have had around the world. That's what you see in the last few photos above!

Do you like instant ramen? Have you visited any quirky museums like this one?

Do it!!! It was so fun, interesting, and random, which it seems Japan has an abundance of!

Haha I feel ya. I am still holding out on eating mine, but I'm sure I'll give in soon!
